Our Services

Positive Behaviour Support

Evidence-based behaviour modification and positive behaviour support focused on understanding communication through behaviour, building skills, and improving quality of life.

About Our Positive Behaviour Support Service

Our positive behaviour support practitioners work with individuals displaying challenging behaviours to understand the function of those behaviours and develop proactive strategies. We provide behaviour modification through comprehensive support plans, identifying triggers, improving communication and social skills, recommending environmental changes, teaching safe response methods, and supporting stress and anger management. Our PBS practitioners focus on understanding how individuals communicate through their behaviour, assessing internal and external influences on behaviour, encouraging positive skill development and social engagement, and implementing proactive strategies. Community visits are available at schools, kindergartens, childcare centres, and homes throughout the Truganina area.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is positive behaviour support?
Positive behaviour support (PBS) is an evidence-based approach that helps people with disabilities reduce challenging behaviours by understanding their causes and developing proactive strategies. Our PBS practitioners create individualised behaviour support plans focused on skill development, environmental changes, and improving quality of life.
Does NDIS fund positive behaviour support?
Yes. Positive behaviour support is funded under NDIS Improved Relationships supports. If your plan includes behaviour support funding, you can access our PBS practitioners at Reliance Care and Support. We are a registered NDIS provider in Truganina serving Melton, Deer Park, and surrounding areas.
What is a behaviour support plan?
A behaviour support plan is a document developed by a qualified practitioner that outlines strategies to support a person with challenging behaviours. It identifies the function of the behaviour, environmental triggers, proactive strategies, and reactive strategies. All NDIS-funded restrictive practices require a registered behaviour support plan.
Do you provide behaviour support in Melton and Deer Park?
Yes. Our positive behaviour support practitioners provide services at our Truganina clinic and through community visits across Melton, Melton South, Deer Park, Tarneit, Hoppers Crossing, and surrounding suburbs in Melbourne's west.
