Paediatric Support Services

Support and coordination for children with developmental and behavioural needs, with a focus on NDIS participants and early intervention.

About Our Paediatric Support Services Service

Our paediatric support services at Reliance Care and Support help families access coordinated care for children with developmental and behavioural needs. We work closely with families and our multidisciplinary allied health team — including occupational therapists, speech pathologists, psychologists, and dietitians — to support your child's growth, development, and everyday participation. Where a medical assessment or diagnosis is needed, we can help coordinate a referral to an appropriate specialist. Services are available at our clinic at 341C Forsyth Road, Truganina, and through community visits at schools, kindergartens, childcare centres, and homes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does NDIS cover paediatric support?
Yes. Paediatric consultations can be funded under NDIS Improved Daily Living supports. We help families coordinate paediatric support and connect with our allied health team. Medicare-funded consultations are available with a GP referral to an appropriate specialist.
How do I get a paediatrician referral?
You need a referral from your GP to see a paediatrician under Medicare. We can help coordinate paediatric support as part of your child's care — contact us on 03 9958 6699 to discuss your options.
What does a developmental paediatrician assess?
A developmental paediatrician assesses children for autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, global developmental delays, speech and language delays, behavioural difficulties, learning challenges, and other conditions affecting development. Assessments involve a thorough clinical evaluation and may include standardised testing.
