PERSONAL ACTIVITIES

PERSONAL ACTIVITIES

NDIS daily activities help people with disabilities maintain their highest level of independence possible. Participants may receive these services in the comfort of their own homes. Assistance with Daily living activities is accessible and easy to obtain since it is adaptable and can be molded to fit the specific requirements of each individual. Although these services are typically provided in the participant’s own home, they are also available in a community setting if preferred.

Reliance Care provides clients with a personal care assistant to monitor them as they carry out daily activities to teach them to become as self-sufficient as possible. We tailor our support for each participant’s day-to-day personal activities under their NDIS plan because we appreciate that everyone is unique and has their own set of needs and ambitions.

When we talk about “supporting daily personal activities,” we’re referring to the provision of caregivers who aid participants with all of the activities of daily living that they find difficult when unsupported, such as personal care, dressing, moving around the house and performing regular household tasks. We provide our Supports services when a client has exceptionally high and complex needs that necessitate a higher level of expertise, training, and oversight to meet. Given our expertise in this area, we can put together a team and have our trainers make sure they have the tools they need to handle patients with multiple medical conditions. Persons requiring strict adherence to health management, medical, or behavior support plans, or all three, can receive assistance in their day-to-day lives through reliance care. We can provide services following a Behavior Support Plan, handle complex sensory and communication requirements, and are familiar with incorporating intensive medical services into continuous shifts of care giving. A few examples of the kinds of self-care we cover are:

  • Properly taking proper care of oneself by bathing and otherwise
  • Dress up
  • Grooming
  • To get in and out of bed
  • Duties around the house like washing clothes, making beds, and cleaning
  • Provide participants who want to live independently with respite care, temporary housing, and any assistance or support they need to do so.
  • Maintaining one’s home and garden
  • Mobility/lifting transfers
  • Activities and schedule preparation
  • Temporary assistance in a centre or group home with personal care, housing, nutrition, and recreational opportunities
  • Assistance with meal-planning and cooking

There are many scenarios in which having someone help with personal care is necessary. Whether you live alone, with even a family, or in a shared household, you can count on Reliance Care to be there when you need them. Our group can also be of assistance while travelling, socializing, attending school, or watching a movie. Reliance Care is here to assist you as a reliable NDIS service provider in Melbourne.

EG. Jasmine got her Masters in Psychological Science and Psychotherapy at Monash University. She is a registered therapist with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
Her areas of interest include Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI). ABA is an intervention in which the principles of
learning theory are applied in a systematic and measurable manner to increase, reduce, maintain, and/or generalise target behaviours. In IBI programs, each child’s strengths and weaknesses are assessed and a comprehensive program is created for the child. Jasmine uses ABA and IBA approach and its techniques to help children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and children with Intellectual Disability improve their social skills, self-care skills, communication skills, play skills and ability to manage their own behaviour. These techniques help reduce difficult behaviour
    like inattention, aggression and screaming.
As an experienced therapist, Jasmine has been working with individuals with varying
needs from early school age through to adulthood. Jasmine believes in strength-based, family and child inclusive, and recovery-orientated approach to achieve the desired outcome. Her friendly and welcoming manner help her build constructive rapport with her clients to achieve the best result from each session.
